Message from Chief Executive Officer 

Dear Colleagues,

I was delighted to join over 1,000 of you, along with IHH Healthcare’s management team, at our 8th Anniversary Town Hall earlier this month. During the event, our Group CEO, Dr Prem Kumar Nair, and I shared IHH’s transformation journey and growth strategy for Hong Kong, particularly how we can continue to enhance clinical excellence and patient experience through innovation and clinical research. We also outlined Gleneagles’ expansion plans in Hong Kong and Mainland China, including the upcoming opening of the Gleneagles MediCentre in the fourth quarter of this year, as well as other service expansion projects through strategic partnerships. My heartfelt thanks go to the Town Hall organising committee for their meticulous planning and to every one of you for your dedication to Gleneagles all these years! 

Meanwhile, we are working at full steam on preparing for the China’s International Hospital Accreditation Standards (CIHA Standards). This is not just an assessment but a valuable opportunity for us to learn to refine the various aspects of our services. Last week, we successfully completed the first round of consultation and on-site evaluations, where our teams demonstrated outstanding professionalism, commitment and teamwork which was highly regarded by the delegation. The feedback we received will help us better prepare for the second round of the consultation in August and the final assessment in December. A big thank-you for your hard work and devotion. I’m confident that with our collective effort, we will achieve excellent results together.

As action-packed as ever, right after CIHA Standards, we welcomed the GHK Service Week 2025! Themed “Sparkling with Hearts”, the Week brings a line-up of engaging activities from practical tips to fun interactive games designed for all of you. I could not stress enough the importance of delivering exceptional service experience to our patients. In a highly competitive healthcare environment where high clinical standard is a given, it is service quality and the much-valued human touch that will set us apart from other healthcare providers. I hope you would all take the opportunity to immerse yourself in this promulgation of service excellence.

Gearing up for
China’s International Hospital Accreditation Standards


In addition to the consultancy days, GHK has recently held the 2nd hospital accreditation (CIHA Standards) staff forum. The informative session rendered an experience sharing from Tuen Mun Hospital which had undergone the accreditation process.   

We extend our heartfelt gratefulness to our staff for their hard work and collaboration in preparing for and supporting the on-site consultancy! 

To prepare our hospital for the China’s International Hospital Accreditation Standards (CIHA Standards) assessment scheduled for late-2025, GHK was privileged to welcome a team of surveyors from the Shenzhen Hospital Accreditation Research Centre to conduct our first on-site consultancy. During the three-day visit, we gained deeper insights into the requirements of the accreditation assessment, identified areas for improvement to fulfil the relevant criteria, and obtained highly-valuable guidance on how we could best demonstrate our strengths and good work in the final assessment. 
 

8th Anniversary Town Hall:
Pioneering new frontiers in healthcare excellence

Over 1,000 staff gathered at our 8th anniversary town hall during which Dr Prem Kumar Nair, Group CEO of IHH Healthcare, and our CEO, Dr Kenneth Tsang, staged an inspiring fireside chat on IHH’s strategic development plans and what these would mean for our operations in Hong Kong.

Dr Prem shared insights into our transformation journey to allow IHH to stay ahead of the curve in providing top-notch healthcare on a global scene. He highlighted our aspirations to advance clinical outcomes and patient experience while leveraging cutting-edge technology, innovation and clinical research to provide exceptional healthcare services. Dr Tsang reflected on Dr Prem’s sharing and underscored some of GHK’s recent developments contributing to the transformation journey, including the upcoming launch of our new ambulatory care centre, and the exploration of bringing our services and healthcare expertise to Mainland China through strategic collaborations.

Exploring the evolution of value-based care
GHK was excited to have participated in the recent GITEX ASIA which offered a dynamic and international platform for clinical innovators, tech experts and digital health policymakers to engage in inspiring discussions across AI, cybersecurity, fintech, data centres, health tech and beyond.  





In a panel discussion, our CEO Dr Kenneth Tsang exchanged views on the transformative impact of value-based care (VBC) on healthcare industry in the APAC region whilst introducing some of the experiences of IHH Healthcare on value-driven outcome and innovations on preventative care. Dr Tsang also shed lights on the significance of fostering strategic partnerships with various stakeholders, including the government and universities, as well as IHH Healthcare’s aspiration to spearhead the evolution of VBC in the future.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our Operating Theatre (OT) team and Endoscopy and Day Surgery Centre (ENDO) team for receiving the recent “On-the-spot Recognition” award!  

With their outstanding professionalism and commitment, our OT team has consistently demonstrated great agility and teamwork which has in turn delivered optimal clinical outcomes and patient care to our patients. Meanwhile, kudos to our ENDO team for driving the service of Endoscopy and Day Surgery Centre to achieve a record high of over 1,000 patient cases in March 2025.
