Message from Chief Executive Officer

Dear Colleagues,

First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere thankfulness to all our on-duty staff who remained committed to their roles despite the challenging conditions brought by Typhoon Wipha earlier this month. Your preparation and steadfast support ensured the continued and seamless delivery of our services, allowing our patients to receive the best possible care.

We also recently held our annual 5 Years of Service Award Presentation during which over 120 colleagues were honoured for their dedication and commitment to GHK. Your contributions have helped shape who we are today, and it was my honour to personally thank each of our awardees during the event. As I shared on the occasion, I have been receiving many compliments from different people at various events about the quality of our services and our team. Whilst I am proud of the good reputation we are earning, I attribute these to all of you, for you are the ones who are consistently upholding the highest standards of care, putting patients first in all circumstances, and always going above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you for choosing to be part of the Gleneagles family!

We continue to fulfil our corporate social responsibility through participating in various charitable initiatives and collaborative programmes, including our efforts to promote organ donation. I would like to highlight to you the upcoming Organ Donation Day in mid-August which aims to raise awareness and deepen understanding of organ donation among our staff. The Centre for Health Protection will be hosting a booth and a health talk at GHK, and I encourage you all to be part of it and bring hope to others.

In the few months ahead, we will be gearing up for several major projects, including the accreditation process of the China’s International Hospital Accreditation Standards (CIHA Standards) , the IHH Healthcare Quality Summit to be held for the first time in Hong Kong, and the official launch of Gleneagles MediCentre scheduled for the last quarter of this year. Each of these initiatives may present different challenges, but with our can-do spirit and superb teamwork, I am confident that we together, will once again deliver them as enviable showcases of excellence and professionalism.

Warm regards,

Sending care to the community with Project Dignity
As part of the SG60 Support Initiative for Project Dignity (Hong Kong) hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Singapore in Hong Kong, our senior leaders and staff put on their aprons and gloves to help at the Dignity Kitchen, a Singaporean social enterprise in Hong Kong running a hawker-style food court and community outreach programs, to prepare and distribute meal boxes to the underserved including low-income families, the elderly and the homeless.
Pioneering liver cancer care with Histotripsy treatment

Committed to bringing more high-quality, precise and advanced treatment options to patients, GHK introduced the transformative Histotripsy treatment for liver cancer earlier this year.

Histotripsy is an innovative, non-invasive technology that uses high-intensity ultrasound waves to destroy tumours, without any incision, radiation or needle. It offers an alternative to traditional treatments particularly for patients who are not candidates for surgery. Compared to traditional treatments, Histotripsy treatment typically involves minimal pain and fewer side effects and complications. Its non-invasive feature allows a shorter hospital stay and quicker patient recovery.
