Message from Chief Executive Officer

Dear Colleagues,

Congratulations everyone for completing the second consultation for the China’s International Hospital Accreditation Standards (CIHA Standards) earlier this month, laying a strong foundation for the formal assessment scheduled for this December! Over the course of three days, the exchange provided us with constructive insights and valuable recommendations that will help us continue to elevate our clinical quality and service standards. With these learnings, we are now better prepared to approach the upcoming review with greater confidence and clarity. I send my heartfelt appreciation to all of you for your full support to the on-site consultation and your continued dedication and teamwork.

At the recent IHH Rebrand Launch Global Town Hall, IHH unveiled its refreshed brand identity and logo, marking a significant milestone in the Group’s journey. Our Group CEO, Dr Prem Kumar Nair, reflected on how IHH and its family of brands have earned global trust through a steadfast commitment to healthcare excellence, culminating in the reveal of a new identity that signals its vision for the future. As we move forward, we will continue to deepen our understanding of the values underpinning this transformation and embrace its significance in shaping the Group’s strategic direction. In North Asia, we remain focused on leveraging the strengths of our “Gleneagles” and “Parkway” brands to deliver integrated, high-quality care across tertiary, ambulatory, and primary care settings in both Hong Kong and Shanghai. With the support of IHH’s extensive network and resources, we are also committed to strengthening the services and penetration of our respective brands in these key cities.

On the day following the Town Hall, I had the pleasure of moderating one of the discussion panels titled “Integrated Care Models for Wider Access” at the IHH FutureHealth. Now Conference. It was a meaningful opportunity to exchange insights with IHH leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore strategic responses to global health challenges and address sustainable healthcare development.

To further solidify our brand in Hong Kong, starting from 1 September, all services branded under “Gleneagles” will be collectively named “港怡醫療”. In addition, our clinic network, Gleneagles Healthcare, will adopt the new Chinese name “港怡醫匯”. We will work closely with relevant departments to ensure a smooth rollout of these changes in the coming months.

Thank you once again for your unfailing support to Gleneagles. Let’s look forward to more exciting milestones ahead together!

Warm regards,

Group Rebrand Launch Global Town Hall

The IHH Healthcare Rebrand Launch Global Town Hall held in Kuala Lumpur was livestreamed to all operating markets with over 2,000 staff joining in person and online on 27 August.

IHH has refreshed its leadership positioning, “Catalyst for Better Care”, which underscores IHH Healthcare’s unwavering commitment to delivering top-notch medical services worldwide.

During the IHH Rebrand Launch Global Town Hall, the Group unveiled its new logo and brand identity. Group CEO Dr Prem Kumar Nair shared how IHH is driving transformation across seven key areas including clinical excellence, patient experience, new care models, operational excellence, payor & regulator, employee & doctor value proposition and the application of advanced technology, data, and artificial intelligence (AI). As part of this group-wide initiative, the upcoming Gleneagles MediCentre, set to open this year, will introduce AI-driven smart clinic solutions, enabling seamless healthcare delivery and an enhanced patient experience.

Let’s embark on our bold new chapter together!

Advancing toward China’s International Hospital Accreditation Standards

To prepare GHK for the China’s International Hospital Accreditation Standards (CIHA Standards) assessment scheduled for late 2025, GHK once again welcomed a team of surveyors from the Shenzhen Hospital Accreditation Research Centre to conduct a three-day on-site consultancy. The exercise helped us further comprehend the requirements of the accreditation assessment and gain invaluable insights and directions on fulfilling the relevant criteria, enabling us to fully showcase the hospital’s strengths and achievements in the final assessment.

Enhancing patient-centred care
As part of our ongoing commitment to patient-centred care, GHK has become the first private hospital to launch the city’s first point-to-point non-emergency medical escort service

In partnership with Amber Medical, Hong Kong’s first government-licensed private ambulance service, this service supports patients who require medical supervision during transit, including the elderly and those with mobility challenges. The ambulances are equipped with advanced medical equipment and staffed by trained healthcare professionals, ensuring safe, comfortable and continuous care between home and our hospital.

Making our robotic surgery more comprehensive
with da Vinci Xi system
Committed to delivering cutting-edge surgical care with a safer, faster and more precise path to recovery, GHK introduced the da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system earlier this year.

The system is complemented by an advanced 3D high-definition vision and micro-instruments, assisting surgeons in executing complex procedures with greater accuracy and stability. The robotic arms offer high stability and can manoeuvre delicate tools in tight spaces with exceptional flexibility, thereby broadening the range of minimally invasive surgeries and enhancing the effectiveness and safety of surgical procedures.

A cinematic experience with Children and families of Children’s Cancer Foundation

We have recently participated in a meaningful movie screening event for about 180 young patients and their families organised by the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF).

The families of CCF spent some joyful and relaxing time together on the big screen while savouring delicious snacks and drinks. A big “Thank you” to our volunteers for their wonderful support to the event which created lasting memories for the young patients and their families.

Organ Donation Day – Turning compassion into action
In support to the Department of Health’s (DH) initiative to promulgate the culture of organ donation, the GHK’s Organ Donation Day was staged earlier this month.

Colleagues were enlightened with valuable insights into the organ donation process, its life-changing impact on patients, and how individuals can contribute during an educational talk. With DH’s promotion team on site at GHK, registering individuals wishing to donate organs after death was also made easy. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all colleagues and visitors who took the meaningful step of registering for the programme.
