Message from CEO

Dear Colleagues, 

Amid the unprecedented pressure COVID-19 has brought to Hong Kong’s healthcare system, we conducted ongoing reviews of and stepped up our anti-pandemic measures. As our 24-hr Outpatient and Emergency Department (OED) is handling a surge in demand for COVID-19 testing, to ensure the safety of our staff and patients, additional measures including strengthening disinfection of the OED, installing additional air purifiers and setting up an outdoor waiting area have been put in place. Please be reassured that all staff will as usual be provided with sufficient and appropriate protective gear so that you can carry out your duties safely. My appreciation goes to all of you for sparing no effort in taking great care of our patients while helping GHK implement additional or adjust its anti-pandemic measures in a swift and efficient manner. If you have any difficulty at work, please do not hesitate to raise them to your supervisors or division heads and we will do all we can to assist you in resolving the issues.


Since the early stages of the pandemic, we have launched special offers on all-inclusive fixed-price medical packages to help patients who were affected by the reduction of non-urgent services in public hospitals. To meet the notable demand for joint replacement surgeries, we will relaunch the exclusive offer on total knee replacement medical packages tomorrow, in a bid to help orthopaedic patients in the public hospital queue to receive prompt care during this challenging period.

In addition, with the support from NWS Holdings Limited, we will also be offering free online consultation service, through our Virtual Family Medicine Centre, to members of the public from tomorrow. Through offering this medical counselling service, we hope to help ease the concerns of those who are currently under home isolation due to COVID-19 infection or other related reasons and are unable to seek medical assistance physically. Meanwhile, as you would have learned from recent news, we are liaising with the Hospital Authority on different proposals with an aim to provide care to some of the more urgent and semi-urgent public patients as soon as practicable. I appeal for your support to GHK in these initiatives, and let’s continue to help Hong Kong fight this battle!

GHK is the first, and currently the only, private hospital in Hong Kong taking part in the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative since 2018. I am delighted to share with you that we have been awarded the certification of Level 1 Participation of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative. With over 95% of our staff having completed introductory training on baby-friendly knowledge, our commitment to making GHK a baby-friendly hospital is well demonstrated!

I am also proud to bring you the good news that our patient app My Gleneagles SmartHealth has recently won the “Living Smart Award 2022 – Smart Design” organised by Ming Pao. While more new functions to the mobile app are in the pipeline, we will actively explore the use of innovative technology in our different services not only to offer better experiences for patients, but also to make your workflows more efficient.

GHK awarded Level 1 Participation of Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative

We are pleased to share that GHK has recently been awarded the certification of Level 1 Participation of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative. Among the different achievements under Level 1, 95% of our staff has completed introductory training on baby-friendly knowledge. We appreciate your great support! 

The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative was launched by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund. Committed to advocating breastfeeding, GHK is the first and currently the only private hospital in Hong Kong taking part in the Initiative since 2018.   

Going forward, more professional training will be conducted with our staff as we forge ahead with achieving the Baby-Friendly Hospital award. 

My Gleneagles SmartHealth wins “Living Smart Award - Smart Design”

GHK’s patient’s app My Gleneagles SmartHealth has recently won the “Living Smart Award 2022 - Smart Design” under the Well-being category organised by Ming Pao.

As an integrated health information platform, our patient’s app provides users with information on advanced healthcare, healthy living and promotion offers. Complemented by a suite of functions for outpatient services, the app allows users to manage their healthcare needs whenever they need to, wherever they are.

The Living Smart Award aims to recognise organisations dedicated to bringing innovative services or products to improve our living quality, building a sustainable environment, and creating a free and independent living space for all.
 

Safeguarding patients’ health with timely and professional care

Our 24-hour Outpatient and Emergency (OED) team is committed to providing prompt and professional care to patients with urgent or common medical conditions. Watch these clips which encapsulate how the team provides prompt care to patients when they need help most.

GHK launches further discount on
total knee replacement packages for public hospital patients 



Since the early stages of the pandemic, GHK has offered special offers on all-inclusive fixed-price medical packages to help patients who were affected by the reduction of non-urgent services in public hospitals to receive timely medical care. Amid this new wave of the pandemic, and in view of the notable demand for joint replacement surgeries, GHK relaunches the exclusive offer on total knee replacement medical (TKR) packages, with a further discount, in a bid to help public hospital orthopaedic patients to receive prompt care and help alleviate the pressure on public hospitals. 

Simultaneously, a special offer is launched on robotic arm assisted TKR medical package, providing an additional surgical option for patients.

Sending warm wishes to staff at Lunar New Year 

As we ushered in the Year of the Tiger, our CEO Dr Kenneth Tsang dressed up as the God of Wealth and sent New Year wishes with red packets to colleagues. May the new year bring good health and success to everyone!

Colleagues had an artistic evening learning the skills of Japanese-style flower arrangements at an online workshop organised by GHK Club.
