Dear Colleagues,
Let me start off by thanking you for your active participation in our newly-launched staff communication initiative “Speak Your Mind”. It was great to see your enthusiasm in sending through your many questions and views about your work life at GHK! The most-asked questions were indeed about staff benefits, training and career development, but we also received many thoughtful suggestions on a spectrum of topics including our hospital development, operations, facilities and so on. In the soon-to-be-release video you will see that I have tried to address the most commonly-asked questions. For individual questions that I was not able to cover in the video, please be assured that they are being followed up with you by the relevant departments. Your thoughts and questions have given us insights into what are considered important to you, so please do keep them coming!
Congratulations to our A&E team for achieving another important milestone! As the city’s top-notch private teaching hospital, we aspire to contribute to the training of healthcare professionals and the sustainable development of healthcare services in Hong Kong. Most recently, our 24-hr Outpatient and Emergency Department has been accredited by the Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine as a training site for basic trainees. We will continue to enhance our capacity as a training hospital as we continue to extend training to more specialties.
As our efforts in introducing innovative and the latest medical equipment continue, I’m pleased to share with you that a clinical trial project related to the development of a new-generation robotic endoscope has been in progress at GHK. Developed by a medtech startup with its R&D base in the Hong Kong Science Park, this smart endoscopic system, upon completion of its development, is expected to allow surgeons to perform surgeries with even higher accuracy and safety, further enhancing clinical outcomes for patients.
I hope that you have enjoyed reading the 5th anniversary photobook as much as I have! I also hope that you were filled with pride and fond memories as the album recounted the many great achievements which you helped GHK attain over its first five years. Special thanks to those of you who have contributed your own photos to help make this photo collection of GHK’s history, development, people and culture more complete. Building on the solid foundation laid by our devoted staff, I look forward to creating more wonderful stories with you!
