Message from CEO

Dear colleagues,

With the recent lifting of all mask-wearing rules by the Government, Hong Kong as well as GHK have continued to move towards normalcy. Unlike the past few years, we were pleased to be able to arrange a number of activities to celebrate GHK’s 6th anniversary with you. Our senior leadership team and I had the pleasure of thanking you in person for your support to GHK all these years by serving you lunch at Bistro on our birthday. I hope that you all enjoyed the meal and our humble service!

You probably should have noted that “Uniquely yours” is adopted as the theme of this year’s anniversary gift. To extend our promulgation of this service culture to our patients and members of the public, we have recently launched the “Uniquely yours” campaign on GHK Facebook page, leveraging the series of short video stories which has struck a chord with many of you. With this campaign we are also looking for great ideas on how we may further live up to this spirit and you are most welcome to invite your friends and family to join in to win tickets to the Ocean Park!

Earlier this month, we announced the launch of our Gynaecological Oncology Centre as we continued to develop our specialist centre services. Supported by a multi-disciplinary team and the adoption of the latest surgical robotic and endoscopic systems, the Centre strives to become a regional leader in advanced gynaecological oncology services, offering more treatment options including gyanecological robotic surgery for patients. Our collaboration with healthtech companies has allowed us to go beyond providing high-quality healthcare services. Through participating in clinical research on and development of cutting-edge surgical equipment, we also aspire to become a research, application and teaching centre for advanced robotic and laparoscopic systems.

Congratulations to the team at Ward 5A on starting to serve patients as a full-fledged Private Mixed Ward! Providing both day-case support and inpatient services covering surgical interventions, endoscopic procedures and non-invasive diagnostic treatments and investigations, Ward 5A will strengthen our capacity to meet the rising demand and help fuel further growth of our inpatient services.

Gynaecological Oncology Centre leverages new-generation surgical robotic and endoscopic systems

Striving to become a regional leader in advanced gynaecological oncology services, our recently-launched Gynaecological Oncology Centre introduces novel surgical technologies, including state-of-the-art robotic and endoscopic systems, to provide precise and advanced treatment for patients.

By adopting the multi-disciplinary approach, the Centre is committed to providing comprehensive diagnostic services and personalised treatments for patients with gynaecological cancer.

Inpatient services further expanded

Congratulations to Ward 5A which has further strengthened our inpatient service capacity!

Staffed by a highly-committed and professional team, this Private Mixed Ward supports both day cases and inpatient services covering surgical interventions, endoscopic procedures and non-invasive diagnostic treatments and investigations.

Kicking off ACHSI Accreditation 2023

Achieving the full accreditation from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI) in 2019, just two years after service commencement, was a significant milestone for GHK.

In our second accreditation scheduled for October 2023, GHK will be striving to attain the accreditation by completing the more robust, stringent and comprehensive 7th edition of the Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuiP7) and Person Centred Systems (PCS) Module to showcase our highest standard of patient care which is on par with international best practices.

The mini ceremony on 30 March marked the kick-off of our preparation for the exercise. During the event, staff were shared insights related to the Organisation Wide Assessment and some updates on the progress the hospital has made in its preparation.

“THANK YOU” for your 5 years of dedication!

The 5 Years of Service Award Presentation was staged earlier to celebrate with over 170 colleagues who had joined GHK between 1 April 2017 and 31 March 2018.

Our CEO Dr Kenneth Tsang took the opportunity to thank our staff for their devoted service and their faith in growing with GHK and presented a commemorative gold coin to each of our awardees.

Congratulations again to all our awardees! We look forward to having many more wonderful years with you!

Spreading our “Uniquely yours” service culture!

Riding on the 6th anniversary of GHK, the "Uniquely yours" campaign was launched earlier on our Facebook page to help promulgate this unique service culture among staff and members of the public.

Participants are invited to share their most memorable experience encountered in a hospital and/or suggest a service or facility that a healthcare provider should offer to patients. Submissions stand a chance to win up to 4 complimentary Ocean Park tickets!

Extending support to victims afar

Further to the earlier donation of aid supplies, GHK initiated another staff donation appeal to support victims in the devastating earthquake in Türkiye and Syria through Hong Kong Red Cross. With the swift and active response from our colleagues, a total of HK$53,960 was raised further to the matching donation made by GHK.

We send our gratefulness to colleagues who kindly supported the appeal to help the victims navigate this difficult time.

Happy 6th Anniversary!

GHK turned 6 years old on 21 March!

After a long hiatus due to COVID-19, our management team resumed the "GHK tradition" of serving our staff lunch at Bistro on our anniversary day.

As a small token of appreciation for our colleagues’ contribution to GHK, a special anniversary gift was prepared for all members of staff. The celebration was complemented by a lucky draw for colleagues to win one hundred hotel dining vouchers!

A big thank-you again for being part of the GHK family and Happy 6th Anniversary!
