Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to share that our new office at Marina 8 in Wong Chuk Hang has officially opened in August. The opening signifies another new stage of our development that we are no longer just a single hospital, but a growing network of services under the Gleneagles brand. The additional office allows some of our supporting departments, which are now at the same work location, to collaborate even more closely and cohesively with each other. Meanwhile, the use of our hospital space will continue to be reviewed to foster further growth of hospital services; and for our on-site colleagues, we will also do our best to make available more spaces for having meals, changing clothes, taking breaks and so on. Wherever your current work location may be, please be assured that we will strive to continue to provide a pleasant and conducive work environment for you.
August was also the month when we sealed a collaboration with Jiahui Health in the Mainland on making our service available to more mainland patients. Through teleconsultation, we will provide second opinion service to mainland patients, and suitable patients from Jiahui will be referred to GHK for further screening, consultation and/or treatment. As the collaboration deepens, we will also be looking to offer in-person consultation in Shenzhen for patients. The partnership is a promising step forward in enhancing our patient base, and with the liaison and concierge service to be delivered through our Shenzhen representative office, we hope to steadily build a stronger brand awareness and reputation in the Greater Bay Area.
Just a couple of days ago, we established a radiotherapy reference centre with medical equipment manufacturer Varian, which is the first of its kind in the private healthcare sector in Hong Kong. Through being a reference centre, RTO and Medical Physics will play a bigger role in contributing to healthcare development by implementing advanced treatment programmes, exchanging knowledge, sharing experience, validating the technology, etc. Our slightly longer-term plan is to help train more radiotherapy professionals in Hong Kong and beyond through setting up a radiotherapy training school. Preparation is underway, and I hope to share more updates with you on the initiative as we progress.
Meanwhile, some of our other teams are busy planning for more activities. In the coming weeks, we should be welcoming the opening of the newly renovated Dialysis Centre, the reopening of Chemotherapy Centre, and the service commencement of the first clinic under “Gleneagles Healthcare”, our new primary care clinic chain! I send my thankfulness to the teams for their great teamwork and professionalism in realising these projects!
Warm regards,
