Dear Colleagues,
As we celebrated the Year of the Dragon with new hopes, Gleneagles Healthcare welcomed its second clinic in mid-February, following the opening of its first clinic in Wong Chuk Hang earlier last year. Strategically located in South Horizons, the new clinic allows us to bring quality and holistic primary care experience to more people in the Southern District. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our teams for their collaborative and efficient work in facilitating the setting up of the clinic.
Aspiring to live the IHH’s “Care. For Good.” spirit, GHK has been striving to make a positive impact on our patients, our people, the public and our planet. To foster a safe, enriching and inclusive workplace and to show our support in promoting equality and racial inclusion goal, we are making a pledge to support the “Racial Diversity & Inclusion Charter for Employers” launched by the Equal Opportunities Commission. The interactive educational game booth arranged by Human Resources earlier this month was just a start. Whilst our hospital continues to attract more talented professionals from diverse backgrounds, I look forward to building with you a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported.
We strive to promote the wellbeing of all and raise people’s awareness of preventive healthcare as part of our broader commitment to social responsibility. Recently, and for the first time, we collaborated with a social enterprise Silveriders to launch a health awareness campaign to promulgate early detection of mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease. We will be reaching out to Southern District residents. Through offering a series of health lectures, cognitive screening roadshow and community survey, we hope to enhance their ability to recognise mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease, and highlight the importance of early detection.
Our hospital has different initiatives in place to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions including the installation of electric vehicle (EV) chargers at our carpark. To further encourage greener travels and offer extra convenience to our visitors and staff, seven additional EV chargers have been installed at the carpark.
Time flies that next month will mark the seventh birthday of GHK. I hope you are as proud as I am that we have grown beyond a single hospital in a relatively short length of time. This is a testament to your devotion which I am always grateful for. Though I’m well aware that March is going to be another busy month for us, let’s look out for the anniversary surprises coming your way!
Warm regards,
