Dear Colleagues,

It was my great pleasure to celebrate GHK’s 7th anniversary with you and to have the opportunity to thank you in person with sweet treats for your continued support to the hospital. This year, we extended the mini celebration to our patients and visitors who appreciated the joy that was shared among our happy and engaged colleagues on the occasion. I hope that you have also found the anniversary gift the perfect companion for your next trip! At the same time, please take a moment to note the messages printed on the gift to help you get a deeper sense of the essence of our service culture “Uniquely Yours”.

The anniversary is also a time for reflection for me. Over the past few years, we witnessed many significant milestones and expansions in various forms. Given our unique background, our development has taken an interesting course – you have seen GHK performing highly complex surgeries, introducing novel treatment protocols with superior outcomes, taking part in clinical studies and research, and partnering with healthtech companies to turn innovations into patient care. And it is because of these that GHK has gradually established for itself a unique character and edge. I believe that we are on the right track to be recognised as a healthcare provider which is always a step ahead – a unique positioning which I look forward to further strengthening with you.

GHK has been introducing new technologies and automation in different areas to make our hospital operations “smarter” and our workflows smoother. But another important reason behind this is that we hope to allow our staff to focus on what they do best, and that is providing exceptional care and personalised service that meets patients’ individual needs. Other than the on-trial cleaning robot you might have spotted moving about at GHK, we are also exploring another robot for transporting samples, materials and documents within the hospital to help us meet the increasing service demand.

I am pleased to share that recently, GHK was awarded the iRecycle Sustainability Award organised by the iRecycle Charity Foundation for our outstanding contribution to fostering a more sustainable future. As a sequel to the green initiatives, such as electric vehicle chargers and solar panel installation and food waste recycling, which were introduced earlier, more initiatives focusing on energy consumption, use of plastics and waste will be rolled out this year. Sustainability is always a concerted effort, but you will be surprised by the positive impact that you and I can bring about by just changing the small habits in the ways we live and work!
