Dear Colleagues,
May was a month when we were busy kicking off a number of collaborative projects with different partners to make our quality services more accessible to the wider community in Hong Kong and to the Greater Bay Area.
As you have learned from our recent internal communications and the news, we have embarked on a collaborative project with Caritas – Hong Kong via Parkway Medical Services (PMS). The recent signing of a memorandum of understanding with Caritas marks the start of the redevelopment project of Precious Blood Hospital (Caritas). In addition to renovating the current hospital building, upgrading its facilities, setting up an off-site ambulatory care centre, and developing a new ambulatory clinical block near the hospital, PMS will also take up the hospital operations at some stage. This new project will allow us to leverage our experience and knowledge in hospital development and operation and in delivering seamless service experience, which will ultimately benefit more patients with better healthcare services. My sincere gratitude to all colleagues who have assisted in making this project happen!
In the same month, we were pleased to have formalised our partnerships with two other organisations with a view towards bringing our personalised services to more people. Joining hands with The GBA Healthcare Group, and with a focus on fostering the development of value-based care in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), we will jointly provide GBA residents with cross-border, high-quality healthcare covering general and specialist outpatient and inpatient services as well as insurance services. Meanwhile, we strive to offer insured patients greater peace of mind during their treatment through partnering with Prudential. With this, patients will be able to receive personalised service on case referrals and during the pre-approval and payment process.
We were pleased to be part of the Asia Summit on Global Health again when we took the opportunity to exchange views on the development of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare and shared our experience in adopting AI in our clinical and non-clinical services. The increasing use of AI in healthcare is expected to continue to be a major trend. With the aim of elevating clinical outcomes and patient experience, we will continue to stay open to explore and consider introducing relevant AI technologies that will bring benefits to both patients and our staff.
Over the years, our Nursing team has been collaborating with tertiary institutions to provide practicum opportunities to students who receive training and guidance from our nurse mentors. Riding on our celebration of the International Nurses Day when we thanked our nurses for their dedication and professionalism, we presented the Excellent Mentor Awards to 18 nurse mentors in recognition of their great effort and contribution in nurturing healthcare talent. Thank you nurses for helping us build an even stronger team!
Warm regards,
