Dear Colleagues,
Earlier this month, we were proud to have once again participated in the Asia Summit on Global Health (ASGH), co-organised by the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), marking our fifth consecutive year as the event’s Future Private Health Partner. The prestigious platform has allowed us to exchange insights with global healthcare leaders and explore cutting-edge innovations that are shaping our industry. Notably, our Group CEO Dr Prem Kumar Nair, supported the event as Honorary Advisor and a plenary speaker, sharing visionary perspectives on how the latest investment and market opportunities, corporate innovation strategies and multi-sector partnerships have helped reshape healthcare delivery. I also had the pleasure of joining a panel discussion on the topic of data-driven healthcare, where I highlighted GHK’s data-driven initiatives taken to help us transform patient care and journey. Let’s continue to harness the different insights and stay curious about global trends to help elevate our care standards and embrace transformative technologies together!
We have been actively collaborating with universities, startups and healthtech companies to translate cutting-edge technologies and excellent research outcomes into clinical applications. Riding on the ASGH, we have kick-started our collaborations with a few healthtech startups, including PanopticAI and SmartCare, both nurtured by The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, as well as Emerging Viral Diagnostics (HK) Limited (EVDL), a partner of Hong Kong Baptist University. We are set to partner with PanopticAI and SmartCare to develop and implement AI-powered smart clinic solutions at Gleneagles MediCentre to be launched in late 2025, while the collaboration with EVDL involves the integration of its innovative diagnostics system with our laboratory and telemedicine services. We were privileged that Dr Prem, the presidents of the universities, as well as the representatives of our partners and HKTDC joined and witnessed the collaboration agreement signing ceremony.
Internally, we spare no effort in developing our staff and strengthening teamwork to keep our team strong and cohesive. During the month, we conducted a 360° review exercise which aims to help staff including heads of departments grow in their respective roles, better understand their strengths and limitations, and reflect on areas that are thriving and those that may require more attention. I believe that the review will have a positive impact on the overall development of each department, encourage more communication and interaction among colleagues, and improve team cohesion and efficiency.
As we celebrated the International Nurses Day and thanked our nurses for their unwavering dedication to patient care, we presented the Excellent Mentor Awards to 19 nurses in recognition of the training and guidance they have provided to nurture our healthcare talents. Thank you nurses for your continuous effort and commitment to delivering exceptional care to our patients!
Warm regards,

GHK was privileged to kick-off innovation partnerships with three healthtech and biotech startups at the Asia Summit on Global Health 2025 with a shared goal of pushing the delivery of quality healthcare to the next level.

Another strategic collaboration signed was with Emerging Viral Diagnostics (HK) Limited (EVDL), a partner of Hong Kong Baptist University. The collaboration will see the Avalon Automated Multiplex System (AAMST) developed by EVDL being integrated into Gleneagles’s laboratory and telemedicine services and is expected to further strengthen the hospital’s diagnostic and remote care capabilities.
|
GHK has signed a tripartite collaboration agreement with PanopticAI and SmartCare, both nurtured by The University of Science and Technology with each bringing their cutting-edge technology, to develop an integrated smart clinic solution for the upcoming Gleneagles MediCentre set to be launched in late 2025. The partnership aims to enhance service and operational efficiency and offer seamless, personalised patient experiences through developing and implementing AI-assisted digital clinical workflows.

GHK was pleased to participate in some interesting discussions on the latest trends and challenges in healthcare services and hospital management at the recent Hospital Authority Convention 2025.

During the session “Empowerment and Engagement of Staff in Healthcare”, our CEO Dr Kenneth Tsang engaged the audience with a sharing on staff engagement in hospital accreditation. In addition to speaking about our preparation for dual accreditation, he highlighted how hospital accreditation can also serve as a tool to achieve the hospital’s quality cultural transformation. Using GHK as a case example, some other key aspects discussed included driving motivation and morale among the frontline, empowering staff with the right skills and knowledge, fostering two-way communication, and giving recognition to staff throughout the accreditation exercise.

Fostering better liver health in community
|
|
|
GHK has recently launched a hepatitis B screening programme, offering free blood tests to 1,000 eligible persons, with a view to enhance public awareness of liver health. Eligible participants can receive a free blood test with a report along with a doctor consultation. Participants may also receive hepatitis B vaccination or arrange follow-up consultations at discounted rates according to their healthcare needs.
Striving to improve overall public health in the long run, the initiative also aims to identify hidden hepatitis B carriers who are unaware of their conditions and provide them with relevant health advice.
