Dear Colleagues,
Warm wishes for the Chinese New Year! It was a real joy to gather in the hospital lobby with our management team to “Lo Hei” and exchange New Year blessings with colleagues from different departments. May the Year of the Horse bring good health and prosperity to you and your families.
At the recent IHH Global Town Hall, our Group shared a clear focus for 2026, which is productivity. As our Group CEO Dr Prem reminded us, technology and AI will continue to influence how healthcare evolves, but long-term success ultimately depends on how people work smarter. Our goal is to do better rather than to do more. To achieve this, the Group is strengthening the foundations that help teams collaborate more effectively, including how we use data, how we streamline processes and how we refine operating models.
I also shared during the Fireside Chat that over the past year, Hong Kong has introduced AI into several parts of our daily operations. One example is our call centre, where real-time AI suggestions now support colleagues as they respond to patients with greater accuracy and confidence. This approach has also changed how we train, moving from classroom-based learning to continuous, on-the-job development that allows colleagues to stay focused on patient needs. We are already putting AI-assisted tools into practice, such as AI-supported echocardiography. These tools not only enhance diagnostic accuracy, but also strengthen our efficiency and build the capabilities we need for the future.
These experiences reflect an important shift. In the Town Hall, two areas of HR transformation were highlighted, namely “Purpose and Impact” and “the Future of Work”. As technology reshapes our environment, we must remain curious and committed to learning so that every colleague can continue to grow and stay relevant in an evolving healthcare landscape.
Back to Hong Kong, our regional development work is also progressing. Our collaboration with Asian Venous Academy and Dr Smile Medical Group strengthens our capabilities in the field of venous care and opens new opportunities in AI-enabled medical education and multidisciplinary training. At the same time, the expansion of the Prudential direct billing network across Gleneagles Hong Kong and Parkway Shanghai is improving access for cross-border patients and creating a smoother care journey.
As transformation and growth continue side by side, I wish to express my appreciation for your professionalism, resilience and dedication. This year we will continue to strengthen productivity, deepen clinical excellence and enhance the experience we provide to our patients. Our aim is to ensure that everyone who comes to us feels cared for, supported and safe.
Many of you may have noticed our Gleneagles Buddies – EchoTree, Bravo and Trusky have been bringing festive cheer to the lobby in their Chinese New Year outfits. They remind us that no matter how far technology advances, the heart of healthcare will always be people, and that means all of you. I am grateful for working alongside our staff who give so much of themselves and constantly look for ways to ensure our patients receive the very best care. It is because of your dedication and compassion that Gleneagles continues to be a place filled with warmth and glow.
I look forward to the year ahead as we continue moving forward together, supporting one another and creating an environment where everyone can grow, make progress and find fulfilment in the work we do.
Warm regards,

|
The annual IHH Global Town Hall, themed “Building a Future-ready Workforce”, brought colleagues across 10 countries together both in person and online to reflect on how we can continue building a workforce ready for the future of healthcare.

Against the backdrop of IHH’s group-wide transformation agenda, Group CEO Dr Prem Kumar Nair shared some of the key projects taken in our transformation journey over the past year. Dr Prem also depicted the shifts the Group is making to transform the way we work — using technology, including AI, to enhance efficiency and impact. He emphasised that strengthening productivity across all levels will be critical to supporting sustainable growth and ensuring we stay ahead in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

The conversation went deeper in a lively fireside chat featuring Dr Prem, Group Chief Human Resource Officer Sharon Foo, our Dr Kenneth Tsang, and Group Chief Business Technology Officer Kwok Quek Sin, as they explore how leadership, culture and capability must evolve together to support IHH's transformation journey.
