Dear Colleagues,
Looking back nine years ago, the opening of GHK marked the beginning of our mission to provide high‑quality and transparent private healthcare services to Hong Kong. Over the years, we have navigated different challenges, from the commissioning of the hospital, social unrest, to the COVID‑19 pandemic. However, we emerged stronger and became more resilient each time. Despite the challenging environment, we have witnessed Gleneagles’ continued growth and transformation, highlighted by the expansion of clinical services, enhanced research capabilities, and the active adoption of the latest medical technologies, artificial intelligence and robotic systems. These developments have enabled us to deliver healthcare that is safer, more efficient and future‑proof for our patients. Today, Gleneagles has grown to become a comprehensive integrated healthcare network of a tertiary hospital, primary care clinics, specialist centres, an ambulatory care centre, as well as laboratory and pharmacy services.
I hope you enjoyed the 9th anniversary celebration as much as I did. I am deeply grateful to all of you for continuing to uphold professionalism while delivering care with empathy and compassion. Seeing this as a vivid reflection of our “Uniquely Yours” service spirit, I sincerely hope it will continue to thrive within our team, support one another, and reassure our patients.
In the face of rapid changes in the healthcare landscape, meaningful cross‑sector collaboration and bringing together diverse expertise and resources are essential to addressing growing healthcare needs. Our recent partnerships with Emerging Viral Diagnostics and Mannings, and the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Hong Kong Innovation and Research Institute, highlight our bridging role between research and clinical translation. Beyond strengthening our clinical capabilities and professional expertise, these collaborations also contribute to building a robust healthcare ecosystem and promoting sustainable growth in healthcare across Hong Kong and the region.
While pushing ahead with innovation, partnerships, and transformation, our quality of care and patient safety remain our unwavering foundation. Since first achieving the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) International accreditation in 2019, we have regarded this not only as a recognition of our standards in patient safety and care quality, but also as a valuable opportunity for continuous improvement. As mentioned during the kick-off for our next accreditation cycle, we are taking a bold step to enrol ourselves for the Advanced Person Centred Systems (PCS) Module which focuses on engagement and participation of patients, staff, families, and the community in the design and delivery of care services. With the PCS module closely aligns with the service culture we have long championed, we are poised to achieve commendable results in the assessment. Let us all work together to create greater values for the future of healthcare!
Warm regards,

Kicking off our next ACHS International
accreditation journey
Thanks to the dedication of our colleagues, Gleneagles achieved a three-year full Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) International accreditation in 2019 and again in 2023, reflecting our ongoing commitment to quality and patient-centred care.
In the upcoming accreditation in 2027, and as highlighted by our CEO Dr Kenneth Tsang at the kick-off activity, we will be taking on the ACHS International Advanced Person Centred System (PCS) Module which emphasises the importance of engagement with patients, families, staff, carers, and the wider community in our delivery of person-centred care.
As we begin to start preparing for the exercise, we will continue to build on our culture of excellence while pursuing continuous improvement of the care we provide.

Strengthening patient-centred care and community health through new collaborations
Gleneagles has recently entered into two strategic partnerships to further reinforce our commitment to elevating patient outcomes and experience leveraging innovation. Our collaboration with the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Hong Kong Innovation and Research Institute focuses on advancing the research, development, testing and clinical application of AI and robotic solutions to enhance diagnostics accuracy, workflow and operational efficiency and healthcare delivery. In parallel, our partnership with Emerging Viral Diagnostics and Mannings aims to co‑create a community healthcare ecosystem by bringing advanced diagnostics technologies and virtual care closer to the public, fostering more precise treatments, use of medication and improved community health outcomes.

Uncovering blind spots in healthcare risks
and insurance models
At the 21st Asia Conference on Healthcare and Health Insurance, our CEO Dr Kenneth Tsang joined leaders from healthcare providers, policy administration, and health technology and analytics to exchange perspectives on how healthcare risks and insurance models need to evolve in response to Asia’s changing health landscape.
In the discussion which examined emerging and underestimated health risks in Asia and their implications for healthcare sustainability and insurance models, Dr Tsang shared that rapidly evolving disease patterns require a shift beyond traditional hospital‑centric models towards greater emphasis on prevention and ambulatory care. He also highlighted the need for a more data-driven care model supported by a common data language across the healthcare ecosystem to enable care providers, insurers and policymakers to plan for more targeted and accessible healthcare services.

4th Audit Conference –
Fostering safer and better care through shared learning
We recently held our 4th Audit Conference, bringing colleagues together to share insights, review clinical audit findings, and explore new opportunities to strengthen patient safety and service quality. Through open dialogue and continuous learning, we continue to refine our practices and ensure the safe, reliable care we provide every day.

Driving innovation for better patient care
Striving to achieve excellent clinical and operational outcomes, Gleneagles continues to introduce innovative, cutting‑edge technologies that enhance efficiency while elevating patient care.

Beyond operational innovation, Gleneagles remains committed to advancing clinical excellence through high‑quality, precise treatment options. Histotripsy is an innovative, non‑invasive alternative for liver cancer patients that uses high-intensity ultrasound waves to destroy tumours, without any incision, radiation or needle. Discover how Histotripsy works and the impacts it brings to our patients in the video HERE.
One such advancement is our new fully automated, multifunctional drug dispensing robotic system, equipped with 3D visual recognition and robotic arms with multiple suction cups and grippers. By automating key processes from storage and retrieval to labelling, bagging and packaging, the system strengthens operational efficiency and further enhances patient safety. Watch the video HERE to learn more about the system.

Gleneagles joined hands with Po Leung Kuk to launch a comprehensive series of health support initiatives for the elderly, children in residential care, caregivers as well as frontline staff at Po Leung Kuk. By integrating telemedicine support, medication delivery and laboratory service collaboration, the partnership spans multiple areas, including medical services, nutrition support, training and health management, with some initiatives already underway.

In support of humanitarian causes, Gleneagles sponsored a group of colleagues to join the 4th Red Cross City Challenge. By navigating through city checkpoints and completing mission tasks, our teams not only competed for the Medical Professional Cup but also helped raise awareness and support the humanitarian efforts of the Hong Kong Red Cross. Our sincere thanks go to every colleague who joined this meaningful event!
