Message from Chief Executive Officer

Dear colleagues,

After months of hard work by all of you, and with the coordination by our QSR team, we completed our second ACHSI Organisation-Wide Assessment earlier this month. The week was rewarded by a number of positive and encouraging comments from the assessors on our patient safety, staff training, patient support, customer service cultures and more. I was particularly proud to learn that your devotion to delivering the highest standards of care and your strong sense of belonging to GHK have made a strong impression on the assessor team. My appreciation to you all for making such a well-planned and professional representation of GHK during the week. I look forward to sharing updates on the assessment results with you soon.

In this eventful month of October, we also welcomed Gleneagles Healthcare, another new member of the Gleneagles family. The opening of the first clinic of Gleneagles Healthcare at Marina 8, Wong Chuk Hang signifies a new and exciting stage of development of the Gleneagles brand in Hong Kong. The new clinic complements our integrated service network while further enhancing our capacity to provide high-quality primary healthcare services to those who live in the Southern District as well as the broader community. Thank you everyone for your proficiency and great teamwork in helping us achieve this important milestone. Well done team!

Leveraging the Employee Engagement Survey results collected last year, we have implemented various initiatives with the aim towards addressing your needs and making GHK a more conducive and caring workplace. A couple of weeks ago you were all invited to participate in the Pulse Survey 2023 which aims to measure the progress being made in various areas including manpower, salary and staff benefits, sustainability, training and development, and facility enhancement, etc. Your views, be they praises or gaps to be filled, will help us assess if we are moving in the right direction. Please spend a few minutes to fill in the survey by 3 November to help us make GHK an even better workplace for everyone.

Separately, I hope that most of you have had the opportunity to join the staff forum and Seasonal Influenza Vaccine Injection Day specially arranged for you by our Infection Prevention and Control team. There is no better way to protect yourself and your family against seasonal flu than getting vaccinated. Do make the best of the free jabs before the programme ends on 12 November.

Warm regards,

ACHSI assessment week

We are proud to share that GHK has once again been recommended for the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI) accreditation after the five days of Organisation-Wide Assessment!

At the Summation Conference, the assessors gave GHK positive commendations across various aspects including patient safety, staff training and development, patient support, customer service cultures and quality, safety and risk management. They were also impressed by our team's outstanding performance and teamwork and our commitment to continuously raising the bar of our service standards. A full report will be shared by the Organisation in the coming months.

Our appreciation goes to the ACHSI core team, Criteria Champions and all colleagues who supported this exercise. Your passion and hard work have brought us further and higher on the journey of quality healthcare!

Extending our care for children with life-threatening diseases

To support the Hats On for Children's Palliative Care Day on 13 October, colleagues from different departments gathered to take snapshots with their hats on, extending our care for children who are fighting against life-threatening diseases and helping raise awareness of the needs of these children worldwide.

The HatsOn! initiative is organised by Children’s Palliative Care Foundation under the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

It’s time to get your flu jab!

There is no better way to build a stronger defence against the upcoming flu season than getting vaccinated.
