Dear Colleagues,
As you know, our hospital will adopt the China's International Hospital Accreditation Standards (CIHA) (2021 Version) for our accreditation. This new system, which is developed based on the features of the Mainland’s Tier III Class A hospital accreditation standards while integrated with international standards, is the first internationally recognised hospital accreditation standards in the country.
Following a kick-off ceremony for our CIHA exercise, our staff gained a better understanding of the process and requirements of the scheme from the briefing provided by experts from the Shenzhen Hospital Accreditation Research Center which compiled the accreditation system. My appreciation also goes to the representatives from The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital, one of the first mainland hospitals accredited under the scheme, for sharing their learnings and experiences with us. Please be assured that we will provide you with all the necessary support to prepare for the accreditation while we continue to actively communicate with experts from the Mainland.
Safeguarded patient data security and privacy, in addition to quality clinical service and patient safety, helps us gain patient’s confidence and trust in us. We have implemented policies and measures to protect patients’ personal data and promote a strong privacy culture through various activities and exercises. Recently, we have hosted a data breach drill, simulating scenarios including data leakage, cyberattacks and more to strengthen our preparedness and resilience for these, as well as minimising the potential risk and impact of such incidents.
Over the past few years, we have been providing telemedicine services and raising public awareness of self-managing their health through introducing different initiatives. The pilot of our new remote care service went well, and to take this further, we will be launching this officially with a free trial quota for members of the public. Meanwhile, thanks for your active participation in the earlier naming challenge for this new service and the many creative submissions. After some rounds of deliberation, we have decided to adopt "MoniCare" as the official name of the service!
Driven by IHH’s aspiration to "Care. For Good.”, we strive to take holistic care of our staff. This summer, we are delighted to bring to our staff’s kids again the much-loved Ocean Park summer adventure activities. We will continue to live our Uniquely Yours spirit, and I hope you and your kids will have a great time in the activities!
